We didn’t get a video of our wedding.
At the time, it didn’t seem to matter.
We had some beautiful photos taken and our day was glorious.
After the wedding, we meant to write an account of the day to capture all the little details we knew we’d forget. But in the midst of honeymooning, moving house and changing jobs, it never happened.
Several years on, we lost our photos. Thankfully, we tracked them down years later, but there were details that had been lost along the way. Details like the beautiful words our pastor spoke; the magical live music; the special things we said to each other, and the wonderful speeches by friend and family who are no longer with us. These are the things that we lost, and it’s hard to not feel sad about that.
In the end, if your wedding is as beautiful as ours was, you’ll always remember it. But unfortunately, memories fade. The greatest thing that a wedding film does is capture those memories, and save them from slipping away with the years. That’s something you can’t replace.
